Filipina Caregivers Needed in Israel This 2014 According to POEA

Filipina singing caregiver Rose Fostanes is the first season winner of “X Factor Israel.” She is a Filipina caregiver.

Osang, as she is fondly called by close friends, continues to be an inspiration to many, particularly overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Many OFWs in Israel voted for her, and thousands expressed their support for her via social media.

It is estimated that there are 100,000 Filipinos in Israel of which 40,000 to 50,000 have legal documents and 30,000 are workers whose permits have expired and stayed on illegally.

Filipino caregivers began arriving in Israel in large numbers during the early 1990s.

Israel hires strictly Filipinos as home providers of care giving services for the elderly.

Because of this, and the continuously elevating need for overseers and helpers for aging Israeli population, the need to bring in more Filipinos is increasing.

Most caregivers at least make about nine dollars an hour. It is more or less the minimum wage in the USA.

Tensions have risen between the Israeli and Philippine government over the security of the incoming Filipino workers.

After they were cleared, the Department of Foreign Affairs once again began to allow Filipinos to immigrate to Israel to work.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) had just recently announced the most in-demand jobs this Year 2014. One of the biggest is caregiver jobs in Israel.
